When I got here yesterday, I bopped all over the place, trying to settle down, trying to calm my mind and body. You know what it’s like, getting into the rhythm of that other part of your life that you’ve left behind for a while!
My first stop was the deck (living room); breathe deeply, take in my view, and check the jetty to see about the tide. Lots of rocks indicating low tide, the best for walking the beach.
The beach was crowded. Well, not crowded but there were more people and dogs enjoying the warm, fifty degree New Year’s Day than I had every seen on the beach before.
But wait, I only saw one lone gull. Where were they? On Monday when I am the only human visitor walking the sands, will I be joined by a crowd of gulls?
