Just to help you understand the seriousness of my question, you need to know that I pride myself in always serving clean lettuce, which means that sometimes I rinse it four or five times. So, clearly a lettuce washer (note that I don’t call it a spinner) is an essential kitchen gadget as far as I am concerned. And then there’s the problem of finding the right replacement should the need arise. Believe me, not all lettuce washers are the same, but thank goodness I know the essential attributes to look for.
Um, I’ve just decided that I’ll keep all three. Writing has helped me think this through. But, really isn’t this silly? I’m trying to simplify my life by keeping only what I need (and love) but to do so I have to go through such a complex mental process. I wonder how I would I handle this entire process if I were just living in the NOW? Maybe gritty lettuce wouldn’t bother me, and if it did, it would only be for that present moment.
