The sky was on fire this morning. When I got up at 5 it was dark, no stars, just a hazy moon. Not a good sign for the spectacular but then each morning is a mystery and each morning produces a miracle. And then, the fire: a thin red streak, and it kept getting better, with the most intense red just north of the rising spot.
I continued taking pictures, from the inside deck, from the outside deck. The fire burned until just before the actual rising; then the intensity dissipated and clouds blocked the final event.
We don’t know how long this awesomeness has been going on, but regardless of the cloud coverage, I live in faith that it will happen again, tomorrow and tomorrow. It’s always awesome, but today’s fire was worth more than one picture.
