We've all experience personal paradigm shifts, major new beginnings in our lives. After a stable childhood, mine began: college, a teaching job, marriage, the birth of my son and daughter, a teaching career and writing books for teachers, becoming a grandmother, retirement; earning a divinity degree, hospice work, spending six winters at the cottage by the sea, my mom's passing at age 101, involvement in my church, and solitary travel.
And now this, a medical condition offering only one sensible choice: shift to living in a world where I have to 'medical.' Clearly a New Beginning for me.
