Traveling alone gives me this kind of easy choice. Each day I can decide exactly what I want to do, and then at any given moment, I can turn on a dime and change my plan. Displaying such behavior with a traveling companion would be beyond the orbit of social principle or courtesy. I certainly wouldn’t expect anyone to stop because I have this whim to sit down and write. It would take conversation and compromise, something I appreciated being away from for a while.
Traveling with someone isn’t good or bad, it’s just different. If you want silence, solitude and simplicity and sometimes like to be alone, which is what the blog is about, you might consider occasionally traveling by yourself.
