Those of us east of Rt. 495, however, had an extra hour or so of preparation from the local TV stations. By the time the twister had done it devastation in the western part of the state, the stations had become organized enough to tell us to the minute when we might expect the worst. But by the time the storm reached us, all it could offer was heavy rain and some thunder and lightening.
When I consider these tornadoes I’m aware that this blog is a luxury. Just to talk about silence, solitude and simplicity precludes that we have a certain amount of it. Not so for those in the path of a twister. Take silence: evidently for many the noise is more horrifying than the wind. Any solitude is filled with fear. And simplicity? None. Just look at the photograph.
