No April Fool
I woke up to a panoply of complexities. No April Fool about a winter wonderland. Sox are opening at Fenway today. April Fool—the game is in Texas! But more pressing was the truth that we have no heat, and so I decided that today was the day that I would learn about furnaces and pilot lights. Believe me, I didn’t want to do this; I found it incredibly boring (no offense) to follow my husband into the cellar as he checked things out. That being said, I feel less stressed now that I know where things are, which mainly means I know who to call when problems arise. I’m doing all of this to simplify my life, or more accurately stated, to simplify my mind. Just knowing a few simple household locations and service numbers gives me a simple sense of relief. But truth be told, I’d rather not have the job.
