Another popular gratitude is birds, which have been in magnificent harmony these early spring mornings. If we’re early enough they are singing in chorus, offering a calming beginning to the day. Then they stop; it is silent and we figure it’s time to pour the coffee.
Maybe some of you ornithologists know which birds are singing. Is it a ecumenical choir, with all the local song birds participating? Or are birds exclusive about their singing partners? Regardless, listening is a beautiful way to start the day. It’s the sound of silence.
