I am aware that many of you reading this blog don’t have the ‘luxury’ of such a morning, nor the possibility of an afternoon of the 3S’s. I could tell you that when you retire you will experience less busyness and more time alone, and maybe that will be so--but alas, maybe not.
Whatever your situation, however, I hope that you can stop to note the gratitudes and the moments of silence, solitude and simplicity wherever you are and whatever you are doing. For me it takes practice, practice, practice. This morning there was the simplicity of walking (not driving) to the chiropractor, the silence of his adjustments (just a little snap in my neck), and the simplicity of a treatment that involved no medication. Obviously, the walk with my friend was not done in silence or in solitude, but what a simple way to be with someone.
