I’m here. You know where here is! In Florence. Sunny, fifty degrees, no crowds or traffic to avoid, no lines at the Uffizi to schedule around. This is my new favorite time in this favorite city of mine, but then all times of the year are my favorites. I am here once again to live for two weeks—to eat, pray, and write and to Christmas shop.
It is definitely Christmas time in the city. Preparations are being made to light the tree in front of Santa Maria dei Fiori. What better day than on December 8, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. A friend of mine and her husband know of a little out-of-the-way wine bar where we will watch and celebrate.
