Everyone you see, you say to them, "Love me."
Of course you do not do this out loud, otherwise
someone would call the cops.
Still, though, think about this, this great pull in us
Why not become the one who lives with a full moon
in each eye that is always saying,
with that sweet moon language,
what every other eye in this world is dying to hear?
What is it about this poem that resonates with me when I am at the cottage? The moon, or course, although you'd have go to a cabin in the mountains to see a moon like the one in the accompanying picture.
I like the idea of living with a full moon in our very being. When I am at the cottage, I long for silence, solitude and simplicity, and sometimes I fantasize that it will never end. But after a while I long to be with other people and look them in the eye.
