Laura Ingalls Wilder
Musings
This brought back sweet memories of reading all those Little House books when I was a child and then again to my children. Life for the Ingalls’ family wasn’t silent, solitary or simple, but Laura made me feel that it was, or at least that she had such moments. She couldn’t have written those books without reflective time in the woods and on the prairie or even out in the snow.
Remember “The Long Winter”? How could we forget. The family was living outside of town one day and the next they were settled into a one room house in town. Then the snow came and kept coming. No weather channel back then, just Native American wisdom.
