And then, click, off goes the TV. Settling down from all the noise, companionship, and complication, however, takes time and commitment. Talking a walk, something I do ever day, always sends me into a more peaceful space.
And then there is reading. Currently I am enthralled with Franco Zeffirelli’s autobiography. I am reading it slowly, savoring everything he says about Florence, where he was brought up, and about all the many operas he produced. And then I listen to an opera from my Metropolitan Opera On-Demand Subscription. Currently it’s the 1987 performance of Turandot, produced, of course, by Zeffirelli.
